Sunday- February 11- Wallflower Gallery- Downtown Miami- (ww.wallflowergallery.com ) You are invited to come out to listen to our special guest speaker, Leonardo Cerda (Native American) from the Andes Mountains of Ecuador as he speaks about the beauty of the Amazon Andes mountains and rainforest, as well as his Native Kichwa Tribe. Don't miss this special presentation presented by the Green Party of Miami. The 2007 Mantra International World Music Festival took place in Miami on February 9-11, 2007:
Feb. 9th – Featured the Venus Rising All-woman’s drumming and dance ensemble ; World Music DJ Carl Ferrari, and a World Fashion Show, presenting Couture fashion designs by the amazing new fashion designer, Jimmy Dugazon. -The Design District of Miami & Sheba Ethiopian Restaurant- Feb. 10th - Presented the Headlining Band, MANTRA (World Music Ensemble) with very special guest musicians and vocalists performing throughout the Design District, inside Sheba Ethiopian Restaurant and The Art Fusion Gallery.
-The Miami Children’s Museum- Feb. 11th – World Music Clinic/Workshop for the Youth at the Miami Children’s Museum. Mr. Leonardo Cerda (Native Amazon tribal member from the Quechua Nation of Ecuador, South America), spoke about the beauty of the Amazon Rainforest, his Native American Nation and the serious need to protect the Amazon Rainforest environment and the Native peoples living there. The MANTRA International World Music Festival celebrates the MUSIC & CULTURE from ALL countries; their art, dance, music, film, cultural traditions and customs. The MANTRA Festival creates a sanctuary for the arts as well as creates networking opportunities for artists, producers and lovers of culture. The MANTRA Festival has received the attention of International musicians and dance ensembles, producers and record labels. The Mantra International World Music Festival presents artists and entertainers, such as: African, Caribbean, South American, Native American, European and many more. This is our 2nd MANTRA International World Music Festival, and our 15th large scale music and art festival Production. Our goal is to present independent and signed artists, provide economic opportunities for artists and empower our youth to make positive choices through art and music.
A BIG part of our MANTRA International World Music Festival is about having a positive impact on our neglected communities. We will have youth and community activities during the festival, such as Dance, Music and Art Clinics/Workshops, as a positive step toward the development of our youth.
